Dr. Gharbawy was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, in a home full of animals, family, and laughter. She attended the University of California, Irvine studying Public Health and Medical Anthropology, as well as Pierce College for additional pre-veterinary training. She left Southern California (unwillingly) to attend Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, NY.
While at Cornell, Dr. Gharbawyís interests peaked in surgery, dentistry, and acupuncture. After graduation in 2014, she raced back to the Southern California area with her Pomeranian, Chip. She became a certified Veterinary Medical Acupuncturist (cVMA) through the Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarian’s (MAV) program in order to provide additional options for treatment and pain control for her patients. In her free time, Dr. Gharbawy enjoys spending time at the beach, as well as movie nights at home with Chip. She loves to read, kayak, and meet new people whenever possible.
Dr. Devan Sacknoff
Dr. Devan Sacknoff was born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania. She had a passion for helping animals early on, always bringing home any injured furry creature to nurse. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at East Stroudsburg University. She pursued her veterinary degree on the tropical island of Grenada at St. George’s University and finished clinicals at Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Devan’s professional interests include dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. In her free time, Dr. Devan enjoys hiking, watching movies, traveling and spending time with her three dogs, Gambit, Zuko and Rumi.
